This game could be fun, but you get overwhelmed starting in the second mission. Also, there is no multiplayer which would've made the second mission fun and achievable. First there are 2 or 3 airplanes, and then all of the sudden there are 30-40 airplanes and you are all alone to die.. Buy guns of Icarus instead. This is a single player game in which you are on an airship being attacked by pirate planes. You have to man the guns, fend off the pirates, and carry out repairs as needed. In between missions you can change your ship's loadout. You can earn better guns based on how well you did on the previous mission. You can sometimes choose which mission to take (some missions are identified as being more difficult than others), but overall the game is short. I beat every mission in about three hours. Also, the game does not have a definite ending, it just thrusts you into a Survival mode at the end of the campaign where you try and live as long as possible against the pirates. I like my games to have a definite ending, so that was pretty disappointing.I ran the game on Windows 7 64 bit and encountered no bugs. Graphics were probably good when the game first came out but by 2017's standards they're just passable. The music track was short but synced well with the idea of fighting across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. This is not the best game ever, but it regularly goes on sale for 50 cents, and that's not bad for 3 hours worth of entertainment.. I loved Guns of Icarus Online but this game is no where near as good. I only bought it because I wanted to collect all the games in the series. However, this is expected as it was released in 2010 and was pretty much a little prototype to Guns of Icarus and I didn't expect it to be great. I bought it for less than a dollar so I can't really complain. That being said, I'm curious why the developers kept this on Steam as those who have never played Guns of Icarus Online might think that it is similar to Flight of the Icarus and shun Guns of Icarus Online when it is in fact an amazing game.. Worth .49 cents. Just get guns of icarus online.. A great idea and beautiful theme with interesting back story is let down by an incredibly small amount of content. I thought this was going to be some kind of adventure game like Pirates! with a story, trading and light roleplaying. Perhaps even a bit of piracy and freebooting. Sadly not. What you see in the store pics is the entire game.Instead what you get is a rail shooter that consists of half a dozen linear missions where the ship flies itself and you have exactly three options: shoot incoming aircraft, fix damaged parts of the ship (the Icarus) to prevent it crashing or jump over the side and accept your fate. You can literally finish the entire game in about half an hour. There is not much to see, no scenery just different weather not that you have time to sight-see as you frantically run from station to station trying to keep the Icarus in the air. The shooting part is great but it's really annoying moving around the ship, you can slip off stairs (no handrails, OSHA), trip over ledges (some kind of clipping issue) and intensely frustrating when you don't quite fully repair something before moving, meaning you need to start over from scratch. When you're under fire and probably on fire as well this is pretty annoying. There did used to be multiplayer which would make it more fun, allow teams to work together and give Into the Breach a point but it has been removed, presumeably to drive traffic to the newer online version.The ending is also pretty unsatifying see as you will always die, it's only a matter of time. The End. There isn't even a leaderboard to aim at. This was not the future you expected, eh?There is some replayability in choosing different routes and getting different equipment, loading out out the Icarus different ways but it's pretty limited. It would be nice if like Tower of Guns you could unlock things with each completion to kit out the ship more and more, seeing as the final level Into the Breach is hard as nails.A bit of steampunk-themed blasting fun but seriously overpriced for what you get. Worth a couple of bucks on sale to fill in a Sunday afternoon.. It seems like a good game but it stops working after the first level. Developers, please fix this.
